Tim and Breanne

I was so excited about doing this photo shoot! The groom-to-be, who is a friend of mine, texted me about doing a surprise engagement shoot for his fiance. I was so thrilled...for two reasons. First because, like I said, he is a friend of mine, and I was so excited for him that got engaged and is so happy. Secondly, (ok ladies, don't be jealous) because the photo shoot was a surprise!! How cool is it that a groom-to-be was so thoughtful that he wanted to surprise his new fiance with a photo shoot!! I met the bride-to-be for the first time the night of the shoot, and I have to say, she is so super sweet! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire photo shoot. And I got the added excitement of being asked to photograph their wedding in Wheeling next year. I am so excited for that wedding!! They are both so much in love and it is so apparent just by spending a small amount of time with them.

Sunkissed Summer Photo Contest

We’re well into into June and what a better way to celebrate these amazing summer days than with a photo contest!! For those of you who have taken part in the Halloween costume photo contest, this we be pretty much the same concept, but instead this contest will have a summer theme, and I’m changing it up a bit to include facebook, and not just my blog.

Here are the Guidelines:

-Send me a photo via email to jordanphotography@roadrunner.com of your cute little one, ages newborn-12, in a summertime setting (swimming, vacation, the beach, baseball, etc). Please put “contest” in the subject line. Include your name, contact info, and the child’s name & age. You may enter one photo per child. If you have more than one child, enter a photo for each one :)

-The photo of your child doesn’t have to be from this current summer, it can be from any summer. But remember, the photo must be of your child in a summertime setting or of your child taking part in a summertime activity. Photos need to be ones that you, a family member, or friend have taken. Please no professional images (unless they are images I have taken, then you may use them as long as my copyright is intact).

-All entries must be received by 11:59 pm on June 26.

-The voting will begin on June 27 and run until July 5. Get all your friends and family to vote for you! Email them, text them, facebook them. The more people you contact, the more votes you will get. Refer them to your photo on the Jordan Photography facebook page. They must be fans of the Jordan Photography facebook page to be able to vote.

-The photos with the most votes will win prizes from myself and the shops that I have listed on my facebook wall.

-You may vote for as many photos as you want.

-If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message at anytime!! That’s it! Good luck!!

How to Have the Perfect Newborn Photography Session

Super great article on newborn photo session preparataion..

How to Have the Perfect Newborn Photography Session

Tiny Dancer Breanna

This was the day (actually about an hour prior to) the tornado hitting our county. The weather was pretty rainy and yucky all week and we weren't quite sure we would be able to fit this shoot in. But we dodged the rain and finished the shoot in plenty of time to take cover. I was so excited to take Breanna's photos! This was the first set of dance photos I've ever taken and I loved seeing her all dressed up in her dance costume, makeup, pretty hair, and tiara. She is so quiet and a bit shy (which most parents look at me and say "Ya right!" when I say that about their child. Most kids are a bit shy when I become the person with the big black camera in front of my face. I have known Breanna's mom for oh, about 16 (oh my goodness is that possible?!?) years when we worked together at our wonderful retail jobs. And now I work with Breanna's dad, well almost, not the same office, but the same building. So it's a real thrill for me to photograph children I haven't seen since they were babies. I feel so honored to be the one to capture their memories.
