What is the 2010 Halloween Costume Photo Contest all about?

Having fun, of course! What's more fun than wearing a cute or scary costume at Halloween time?

Second to Christmas, Halloween is one of the top photo taking holidays of the year. We plan and search for the cutest costumes, dress up the kiddos, and take them out for a couple of hours to gather every bit of candy they can get their hands on. Unfortunately, like so many other moments, these sweet moments are gone in the blink of an eye. So what better way to remember all those Trick-or-Treat moments than digging through your photos, find the best costume photos you can find, and then enter them into the Jordan Photography Annual Halloween Photo Contest. I bet you can think of the exact photo you would like to enter right now. And you’re smiling just thinking about it.

Send your favorite photo to jordanphotography@roadrunner.com with subject line of “Halloween Photo Contest” along with the child’s first name only and your (the parent’s) contact information. You will have until October 13 at 11:59 p.m. to send me your photos. The voting will begin on October 14 and run for one week. Not only can you show off those cutie patootie photos of your little goblin, you could win some prizes too!

Rules: This contest is open to children ages newborn to 12. Please send only one photo of each child. Your Halloween costume photo must be compatible with the family friendly nature of this website. The winners will be decided by the amount of votes each photo receives.

Prizes: There will be three prizes awarded to the top three photos. One prize awarded per family.

First prize - FREE Christmas Mini Session which includes 6 photo sheets of your choice AND 50% off any additional photos purchased from your Mini Session

Second prize - FREE Christmas Mini Session which includes 5 photo sheets of your choice AND 30% off any additional photos purchased from your Mini Session

Third prize - FREE Christmas Mini Session which includes 4 photo sheets of your choice AND 10% off any additional photos purchased from your Mini Session

Spread the word and invite your friends to enter their little ones also!

The Bradford family

I was contacted by Emily Bradford to take photos of her family...she & her husband and their for super cute dogs. I drove down to their house to take the photos since one of her their puppies gets carsick. When I got there and met both Emily and her husband and their doggies, I fell in love with this family. Emily & Jeff were just the sweetest couple and I could just tell immediately how much they adored their little guys. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to meet them and so very much look forward to being able to work with them again.

Back to School Mini Session Cuties

Well, the first full week of school is under our belts and I am so behind on blogging (and cleaning, and organizing, but that's beside the point). So with school now into full swing I wanted to share some pics of the adorable, eager kiddos I had the opportunity to take some photos of at the School House Winery in Dover. It was so super cute to see them so excited to go back to school. I love this time of year. A new start to a new school year, with a new pair of shoes and a backpack :)

Back to School Mini Sessions

The time of year has come again (yes, already ).  I know that you are looking at that right now and thinking, “WHAT?!?! Back to School? Really?!?”  But if you think about it, in about a month we will all be going crazy getting the kidders ready for the first day back.  Our house is always full of excitement (and a few nerves) as the new school year approaches.  For our household, this marks the end of elementary school for our Gauge and only one more year until our little Reid heads off to Preschool.  Whether it is the first day of kindergarten or the first day of junior high, it is a day to celebrate and remember just who your child is in these exact moments.

In August, I am going to offering some mini back-to-school sessions!!!! They will be super cheap and super fast. Plus, if you are a teacher, you are so in luck! You will be able to get 15% off your mini session. Just to show my love those wonderful men and women who shape our youngsters minds.

Each session will last up to 30 minutes and will be done on-location (to be announced) with a vintage school desk and books.  Feel free to add a personal touch to the portraits by adding the details that help your child’s personality shine…favorite books, favorite outfit, sports equipment, etc.  The cost for the mini sessions will be $40 which includes 4 units of choice & 10% off all other prints you order from the session.

There will only be 2 dates available, 3 if there is enough interest, so book now! Sessions will be held on August 14th and August 15th (the third date is to be determined based on the amount of interest).  Space available on a first-come basis.  Call, email, or message me on facebook to reserve your date and time.

And here’s an added bonus for you…Refer your friends and family and receive $10 credit for each referral that schedules and completes a session!

Let’s start the 2010-11 school year with great custom photos!

(I took a couple of quick photos using the desk, just to give you all an idea of how cute the vintage desk is ☺)

Dominick at four months

Oh sweet Dominick! This little guy reminds me so much of my Gauge when he was that age. Adorable little smile, big round cheeks, and chubby little guy. Hi is just so cute!! At this age they are so into what is going on around him and he was just wide eyed and constantly looking to make sure mama was still in the room. He didn't want much to do with the crazy lady with the big black camera in front of his face, but I think even though we still got some super cute photos. Dominick's mom and I have been friends for over a decade. We have so many wonderful memories together and now taking photos of her first baby makes my heart full of joy!! Oh I just love this little guy!!

Tim and Breanne

I was so excited about doing this photo shoot! The groom-to-be, who is a friend of mine, texted me about doing a surprise engagement shoot for his fiance. I was so thrilled...for two reasons. First because, like I said, he is a friend of mine, and I was so excited for him that got engaged and is so happy. Secondly, (ok ladies, don't be jealous) because the photo shoot was a surprise!! How cool is it that a groom-to-be was so thoughtful that he wanted to surprise his new fiance with a photo shoot!! I met the bride-to-be for the first time the night of the shoot, and I have to say, she is so super sweet! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire photo shoot. And I got the added excitement of being asked to photograph their wedding in Wheeling next year. I am so excited for that wedding!! They are both so much in love and it is so apparent just by spending a small amount of time with them.
